Work of the Missionary Cenacles
"Participation in the universal mission is the sign of the maturity of faith." (John Paul II) (RM 77)

WHAT IS THE OCM?
THE WORK OF MISSIONARY CENACLES was born at the request of Saint John Paul II for cenacles to give strength to the missionary consciousness of the baptized . He reminded us that:
The nature of the Church is missionary!
That by virtue of baptism, all Christians are jointly responsible for missionary activity.
Missionary cooperation is our right - duty.
Inspired by examples of Christianity such as Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and Saint Francis Xavier , the OCM seeks to remind our brothers that there are three ways to do this:
Going, Praying and Contributing
Because in practice:
Without missionaries there is no mission
Without offerings there is no missionary
Without commitment there is no offer

Mission is done with

the feet of the
that go,

and with the
hands of those who contribute

with the knees
of those who pray
WHO ARE WE?
THE WCO AND OTHER MISSIONARY ORGANIZATIONS HAVE JOINED IN A JOINT EFFORT TO;
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH REACHES MORE PLACES,
SO THAT THERE WILL BE A GREATER NUMBER OF BAPTISMS,
FOR GREATER PARTICIPATION OF THE BAPTIZED IN THE MISSION

OUR WORK
We at OCM go out, right here, in our dioceses and parishes,
Spreading,
Explaining and
Forming Groups of
Missionary Cenacles.
To this end, we developed a "formula" that consists of
* Prayer of a rosary for the conversion of pagans on the 5 continents,
* Reading of a monthly bulletin, with news and testimonies of the mission ad gentes,
* And in collecting offerings for the missionaries
which serve not only as a source of knowledge of the environment there "where the mission is carried out" , but also in concrete facts carried out here outside of what we conventionally call the environment of the mission ad gentes.
This way we become present and active alongside the missionaries.

WHERE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO GO AND THOSE WHO GO ARRIVE... STAYING
The images are a rich collection, and proof that it is possible to be a missionary going like Saint Francis Xavier.
"I must always be ready to fly where His voice calls me to proclaim His divine law there."
or staying as Saint Therese of the Child Jesus
“What drives me to go to heaven is the thought of being able to kindle in the love of God a multitude of souls who will praise Him eternally”

THE CALL
“Go and make disciples
of all nations”

Jesus created a working , practicing church , not just a contemplative one . He ordered us to spread the gospel and announce his return, that is a fact .
But how can we obey this calling in a secular life?

First, accepting responsibility
Putting Pagans and Missionaries to Prayer
Offering for missions
Thanking and encouraging the continuation of the missions
Being a promoter within communities and parishes
Creating missionary activity groups
THE CENACLE IN THE SANCTUARY OF APARECIDA
For ten years we have made a pilgrimage to the National Sanctuary of Aparecida, every last Saturday of October (month dedicated to missions).

OUR PILGRIMAGE ALWAYS TAKES PLACE ON THE LAST SATURDAY OF OCTOBER, FOLLOW THE VIDEO BELOW FOR A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT HAPPENS IN APARECIDA
The pilgrimage aims to promote awareness of this work in the church, which spreads prayer for the conversion of non-Christians. TV Aparecida accompanies our annual pilgrimages and thus collaborates in the dissemination of this work.
WHO WANTS TO BE A MISSIONARY?
